RoboNag Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and Yoram Perehia Alhadeff, trading as PERFECTO Languages ("we", "us"), the maker of RoboNag. Please read them. They're written in plain English, and the most important parts come first.

1. What RoboNag is

RoboNag is a productivity app. You tell it something you want to get done (go to the gym, finish a project, clean your room) and it keeps reminding you until you mark it done.

The reminders ("nags") come from comedic characters ("naggers") such as a drill sergeant, a disappointed mom, a girlfriend, a butler, a vampire or Santa. They are fictional. Their messages are meant to be funny: dramatic, sarcastic, guilt-tripping, passive-aggressive or over the top. They are a joke, not a real person talking to you, and they are not meant to hurt you.

2. What it's for

RoboNag exists to help you follow through on things you already decided you want to do. It uses humor, persistence and a little social pressure, because those work better for many people than a single reminder they can swipe away.

It is a motivation tool. It does not guarantee results, and it can't do the task for you.

3. What you agree to by accepting (the important part)

By accepting these Terms, you are asking RoboNag to bother you. Specifically, you agree that RoboNag may:

• Send you repeated notifications about the nags you create, until you mark them done or turn them off.
• Escalate: the longer you ignore a nag, the more often it comes (up to about every 7 minutes, depending on the intensity you choose) and the ruder, louder and more dramatic it gets.
• Use attention-grabbing alerts at the highest levels, such as time-sensitive notifications that can appear during Focus or Do Not Disturb, alarm-style sounds, vibration, and a notification that stays on your Lock Screen.
• Address you with comedic insults, guilt trips and exaggerated disappointment, in the style of the nagger you picked.
• If you turn them on: text an accountability buddy you invited (only after they confirm), tell your RoboNag buddies when you finish or ignore something, and, if that feature is offered and you separately agree to it, phone you with an automated voice.
• If you use RoboNag Connect: show nags that someone else assigned to you, and tell that person whether you finished them.

You are always in control. At any time you can mark a nag done, snooze it (where allowed), lower its intensity, set quiet hours, delete it, turn off any feature, turn off RoboNag's notifications in your phone's settings, or delete the app.

If being nagged is making you feel worse rather than better, please lower the intensity, pick a gentler nagger, or stop using RoboNag.

4. What RoboNag is not

• RoboNag is not medical, psychological, financial or professional advice, and the naggers are not real people giving you advice.
• RoboNag is not an emergency service and not a safety system. Do not rely on it for medication, medical care, childcare, safety-critical tasks or anything where a missed reminder could cause harm.
• Phones can delay, group, silence or drop notifications (for example in battery-saver modes or after a restart). We can't promise every nag will arrive on time, or at all.
• If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a professional or someone you trust. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US).

5. Who can use RoboNag

You must be at least 13 years old to use RoboNag. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian, and they should read these Terms with you.

RoboNag is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. RoboNag Connect is only for people aged 13 and over, on both sides.

6. RoboNag Connect (sending nags to other people)

RoboNag Connect lets a Pro user ("sender") assign nags that appear on another person's phone ("receiver"), for example a parent and their teenager (13 or older), a manager and their team, or partners.

If you are a sender, you agree that:

• You will only connect with people aged 13 or older who knowingly agree, by entering your code and accepting in their own app.
• You have a legitimate relationship with them (for example their parent or guardian, their employer or manager, their partner or friend), and your use is lawful where you and they live, including employment and privacy laws.
• You will not use Connect to harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, stalk, control or monitor anyone, or to pressure anyone into anything harmful, illegal or against their will.
• Nag titles you write must be respectful. No insults, threats, sexual content or personal information about others.
• Employers: don't use Connect to contact employees outside working hours where that is restricted, or in any way that breaks labor laws.

If you are a receiver:

• You can see exactly who is connected to you, and you can disconnect at any time from Connect. When you disconnect, their nags are removed from your phone.
• You can also Report & block a sender. We may review reports and suspend senders who break these rules.
• The sender can see whether you finished their nags, how many of their nags you ignored, and any proof photos you take for their nags. They cannot see your own nags or your location.

7. Invites, text messages and phone calls

Invites come from you. When you invite someone (an accountability buddy, a RoboNag buddy, or a Connect code), the invite is sent by you, from your own phone, using the messaging app you pick: Messages/iMessage, WhatsApp, or any other app. RoboNag only prepares the message; you choose who gets it and you press send. By using these features, you agree to this, and you confirm you only invite people you know.

RoboNag never texts anyone who hasn't said yes. An accountability buddy must open your invite link, confirm their own phone number with a one-time code, and agree, before RoboNag will ever text them. They can reply STOP to any RoboNag text to stop for good. Buddy texts are limited (currently up to 4 per month) and only sent between 8 am and 8 pm in your time zone.

Phone calls (not available yet). If we offer automated calls in the future, they will be off by default and will require your own, separate agreement, on a number you verify yourself. Agreeing will never be required to use RoboNag, and you'll be able to turn calls off at any time.

8. Proof features

Some nags ask for proof: a photo, a check-in at a place, or a step count.

• Location check-ins and step counts are checked on your phone. We never store your location on our servers.
• Your own proof photos stay on your phone.
• For Connect nags that ask for a photo, the photo is sent to the sender and deleted from our servers after 7 days. The app tells you this before the camera opens.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use RoboNag to break the law, harass or harm anyone, send spam, impersonate someone, collect other people's information without permission, get around our limits, interfere with our systems, or copy, reverse-engineer or resell the app. We may suspend or end access for anyone who does.

10. RoboNag Pro, payments and ads

• The free version includes ads and some limits (for example one active nag at a time). RoboNag Pro removes ads and unlocks more features.
• Pro is a subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change. If a price changes, the store will tell you before it applies to you.
• We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you paid for, we'll try to give you notice.
• The free version may show ads, including "watch an ad to snooze". Ad partners may use your device's advertising identifier, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

11. Your content

The things you type into RoboNag (nag titles, steps, stakes, names) are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run RoboNag for you, for example to schedule your nags or deliver a Connect nag.

12. Disclaimers

RoboNag is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that RoboNag will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every nag will arrive, and we make no promise that it will get you to do anything. (We'll certainly try.)

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything that happens because a nag was late, missed or ignored. Our total liability for any claim about RoboNag is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for RoboNag in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

14. Indemnity

If you misuse RoboNag, including using Connect, calls or texts to bother people who didn't agree to it, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and claims that result for us.

15. Ending things

You can stop using RoboNag at any time by deleting the app. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.

16. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a meaningful way, the app will ask you to read and accept the new version before you keep using it. The version and date are shown at the top.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the place you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
